I started my journey into design through Architecture, at the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi. To this day I hold a license to design buildings, though I've taken a greater liking to designing digital products instead (much easier to do a revision, if v1.0 burns down).

A master's at the same school, this time in Industrial and Product Design. I was freelancing the whole way through it and for two years after, and the brief changed with whoever called: UX, architecture, branding, and sometimes an actual physical object.

Two years at Wongdoody (Infosys) as Lead Experience Designer, across multiple Fortune 500 clients. I led the modernisation of a legacy product for Samsung Korea, bringing in multilingual support and interaction upgrades. I also directed the voice interaction strategy for Intel R&D, crafting the voice flows for the Temi robot, which launched globally across Intel's retail experience centres.

Then Xflow, in September 2022, and I'm still there. I lead design across AI, invoicing, developer experience and checkout, which in practice has meant a cross-functional rebuild of the self-serve invoicing tools, a merchant experience overhaul on the vertical that handles more than 80% of our processing volume, the fee model that made pricing legible on the dashboard, and the global expansion work that scaled the platform UI for multi-currency across every user-facing flow.

I design products, the complete spectrum. It begins with identifying the true problem, then iterating from a pool of solutions, then creating tasty visuals, and finally shipping to users.

I work with AI in and out of work hours. At Xflow that has meant building an AI FX analyst that puts a three-day USD/INR outlook in front of the people deciding when to place a limit order.

The bigger change is in how the design gets made. Design-to-code with Figma MCP and Claude, Figma plugins that take the repetitive work off the team, a documentation assistant so non-technical folks can answer their own questions about the product, and PostHog dashboards built from scratch so product, design and support all read the same usage data. Somewhere in there I ended up leading the AI transformation across our design and development workflows, which mostly means mentoring people through it. I wrote the long version of that as a case study.

I like to dwell in the overlap of design and technology. Over the years I've learned to be comfortable with the uncomfortable and I take great pleasure in learning new things. A fair bit of that ends up here, in the writing and in a handful of things I built and left running.
